Here's a fun way to treat your Birthday Boy or Girl really special for the whole day! Make a sign to display on your dining table, on the coffee table, on the fireplace mantel!

This article will give you all the instructions, plus illustrations, for making a birthday sign that is personalized with your child's name. The free printables are provided by Mom's Break at: http://birthdays.momsbreak.com/birthday-by-age-printable-projects.html. Use the instructions given on that site for downloading the free printables to your computer.

You'll need:

  • Birthday Kid free printable
  • Markers, stickers, glitter
  • Scissors, glue stick
  • Piece of cardboard
  • Plate rack

Print the illustrated instructions at:

http://readingroom.janktheproofer.com/BdaySign.doc. These instructions contain several pictures, so it might take several (long) seconds for the page to open. Once the page does open, then allow a few extra second for all the pictures to appear.

Print the Birthday Kid printable. For help in working with JPG files, either in Word or Paint, please see the following tutorials (in easy-to-follow, illustrated format):

Word: http://readingroom.janktheproofer.com/InsertJPGWord.doc

Paint:

These instructions contain quite a few pictures, so it might take several (long) seconds or even a few minutes for the page to open. Once the page does open, then allow a few extra second for all the pictures to appear. The illustrations are pictures of computer screens, with helpful arrows, to show you exactly what to do.

Fill in your child's name by either writing it in with a marker, printing and gluing on the name (see Word tutorial), or personalizing the Birthday Kid printable (see Paint tutorial).

Glue Birthday Kid printable onto cardboard. Decorate with stickers and glitter, if desired.

Display your Birthday Boy or Birthday Girl sign all day on his or her birthday! This also makes a nice keepsake for a scrapbook or baby album.
