You can use these colorful pumpkins for a variety of cards and crafts. Depending on what you decide to create, you will want to consider whether to print the pages on regular computer paper or card stock (which is a heavier paper, available at office supply stores like Office Depot or Staples).

Below you will find a few ideas for the types of cards and crafts you can make, and hopefully, these ideas will inspire you to be creative and come up with your own crafts!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decorative Door Hanger, Step 1
You can make a door or window hanger, using just a few craft supplies.
For this project, the plain pumpkins were printed on cream-colored card stock paper.
You will also need:
  • A wooden dowel or short rod (don't have a dowel? Use a straw!)
  • Curl ribbon
  • scissors, glue stick
  • Halloween or Fall-related stickers (optional, shown here as metallic-colored leaves)
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decorative Door Hanger, Step 2

Cut out the pumpkins, as many as you want for the door or window hanger.

Punch holes at the base of the green stem.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decorative Door Hanger, Step 3
Decorate the pumpkins with Halloween or Fall stickers.
As an option, have your child color something on each pumpkin.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Decorative Door Hanger, Step 4

Use different lengths of curl ribbon to tie the pumpkins to the rod.

You will want to tie the curl ribbon at the pumpkin stem and then knot it again over the dowel.

The pumpkins are very light, so you might have to put a little piece of tape or a drop of glue on the dowel to hold the ribbons in place.

Loop a long piece of cord around each end of the dowel to hang it.

End of Door Hanger craft.

Pumpkin Name Tags or Seating Assignment Placecards, Step 1

You can personalize the plain pumpkins and make name tags or placecards for a party table!

For illustrated, step-by-step instructions for personalizing a free printable (such as you see to the left with the names Jacob and Alana), then go to Mom's Break FAQs. You will find the helpful tutorials that you need for using Microsoft Word to personalize these pumpkins.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Name Tags or Seating Assignment Placecards, Step 2
Once you have the pumpkins personalized, trim around the pumpkins, or simply cut out a circle, with some of the plain-colored paper showing.
For this craft, the personalized pumpkins were printed on cream-colored card stock. They were then glued to green card stock (cut into small squares).
If you are using as name tags for a Halloween party, simply use a safety pin to pin the name tag to all the little super heroes, ghosts, fairy princesses, and witches at the party!
End of name tag craft.
Pumpkin Card, Step 1
Even though these pumpkins are small, you can use them as the basis of a colorful Halloween or Thanksgiving card that is just right to send to Grandma or tuck into Daddy's briefcase!
You'll need:
  • Plain pumpkins printed on white computer paper
  • Construction paper (two or more colors, as desired)
  • scissors, hole punch, glue stick
  • curl ribbon, string, or yarn
Print the plain pumpkins on white computer paper. Cut out one pumpkin for each card.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Card, Step 2

Rub the glue stick on the back of a pumpkin. Glue to the black construction paper (or other color of your choice).

Trim around the pumpkin, leaving about a 1/4" border of black showing.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Card, Step 3
Glue the black-border pumpkin to the orange construction paper (or other color of your choice).
Trim around the pumpkin so that about 1/4" of orange paper shows all the way around the black border.
Repeat the step to create the green "back" of the card. DO NOT glue the pumpkin to the green construction paper. Simply hold it on the green paper to cut a larger pumpkin shape out of the green paper.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Card, Step 4

Holding both pieces together, punch a hole in the stem, through both pieces.

Tie with curl ribbon.

Now you can write on the inside of the card, or have you child decorate it with crayons, glitter, or stickers.

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Card, Step 5
The card is now ready to go into the festive orange envelope. Download your free printable envelope: Blank Envelope
For a fully illustrated tutorial for folding and gluing the envelope, go to:
[Note: Although the illustrated instructions mention "quarter-fold cards" you will use the same blank envelope and the same instructions for the Halloween Free Printable Cards and Invitations.]
End of Pumpkin card craft.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Flash Cards, Step 1

Use the pumpkin numbers and symbols to create fun flash cards to help younger children with adding numbers! Print the pages of numbers and symbols. You will need the +, -, and = signs more than once, and you can print as many of these math signs as you need. For instructions on how to crop, copy, and print specific pieces of free printables, go to Mom's Break FAQs.

You'll need:

  • Card stock or 3 x 5 index cards
  • scissors, glue stick

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Flash Cards, Step 2
Create simple math problems on one side of the flash card.
Cut out the appropriate numbers and math symbols for the whole problem. Glue only the "problem" part on one side of the card.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pumpkin Flash Cards, Step 3

Glue the "answer" on the other side of the flash card.

Now, learning math can be fun!

End of Flash Card craft.
