This easy paper craft requires very few craft supplies and can easily be used as a craft for the classroom, scout troop, church group, or after-school programs. This craft goes together very quickly and can be used to hang on walls, in doorways, from the ceiling, or over doorways. You can make the banner as long, or as short, as desired!

Step 1.

You’ll need:

  • Halloween Printables*

  • Printed sayings, if desired (see instructions below)

  • Cord, string, or twine

  • Glue stick, push pins

To get these printables, visit Mom's Break Halloween

Step 2.

Download the printables from Mom's Break (see above for link). Print as many as you like, on plain computer paper or card stock (which is a little heavier than regular computer paper).

Create saying for the banners using your word-processing software. As shown here, the sayings are printed in Chiller (font name), 72pt, BOLD. Cut out the words or Halloween sayings and glue onto the blank area of the banner pages.

As an alternative, write the sayings onto the blank printables using a black marker.

Step 3.

Assemble the banner:

  • Fold over about 1” of the top of the picture.

  • Run glue stick just below the fold line, on the back of the picture (see top left). Lay cord along the fold line.

  • Fold over flap, and press down to glue closed. Be sure that the cord stays in the fold line, away from the glued area. You can push the cord with your fingers once you’ve folded over the flap.

Repeat for all banner pages, allowing about 3” of cord in between pages.

Step 4.

Hang banner on wall or in doorway using push pins.

That concludes the instructions for making a Halloween banner.
