[This tutorial takes the place of Pin the Hat on the Witch (which is a Word document, and opens in a separate window). The Word document contains no advertisements and you may want to print it if you are using this craft in a school class, church group, scouts, or other children's day care facilities.]

	Step 1. You will need the following items: A "jointed" Halloween Witch (usually advertised as a door or wall decoration) Black construction paper Scissors (kid-friendly scissors if you are using this as a children's craft) Glitter pens Masking tape White posterboard or brown kraft paper (not shown here)

	Step 2. Carefully cut off the witch's hat. If you are using this as a fun craft for children, you may need to assist a young child with this step.

	Step 3. Using the hat as a pattern, trace the outline of the hat onto black construction paper. Cut out the hat. Make as many hats as you will need.

	Step 4. Use the glitter pen to write each child's name on a hat.* *Note: It will take awhile for the glitter to dry and set. You may want to use an alternate method of putting each child's name on a hat by using self-adhesive labels (such as address labels that you can buy at an office supply store like Office Depot). Put a blank label on the front of the hat and then hand-write the names on the labels (or have each child at the party write his/her name).

	Step 5. Tape (glue or staple) the witch to the posterboard or piece of kraft paper. Be sure to allow plenty of room for the hats to be "pinned." Put up on a wall or door.

	Step 6. On the back of each hat, put two big "donuts" of masking tape. Blindfold each child (or use a Halloween mask with the eyes blanked out). Spin the child a couple of times and then face him/her in the direction of the witch (just one or two steps in front). Each child will walk to the witch and "pin" on the hat (by sticking it to the posterboard or kraft paper. The child's hat that comes closest to being on the witch correctly wins the game! You may want to play this game several times so that everyone wins. Be sure to have little treat bags handy for gifts! See the next box for ideas for making gift bags.
