This simple and fun Thanksgiving Day craft can be used as refrigerator art, a present for Grandma, or as a colorful table decoration!

It is easy enough to use as a classroom or children's group project, and long enough to keep young children occupied for an hour or so!

Step 1.

You’ll need:

  • Crayons, markers, colored pencils

  • Glitter, stickers, glue stick, kid-friendly scissors

  • Construction paper, piece of cardboard

  • Free Coloring Pages, offered by Mom's Break Thanksgiving

Step 2.

Have kids color in pictures. There are no rules about what colors to use where, so let the kids use their imagination for coloring the turkey's tail feathers or the fruit and vegetables in the cornucopia.

For homeschoolers, this is a good opportunity to teach kids about the role that garden vegetables play in a nutritious meal.

When the pictures are colored, decorate with glitter and stickers, etc., as an optional part of the craft.

Step 3.

Trim the colored picture if desired (depending on what the decoration will be used for).

Glue the colored picture onto construction paper using a glue stick.

I prefer Elmer's School Glue Stick. The glue goes on purple and dries clear. It takes only a few seconds for the glue to "set"---so you don't have to wait for watery white glue to dry.

Step 4.

Mount picture on cardboard or foam board using the glue stick. Younger children may need help with trimming the cardboard or foam board.

If you are using this as a table decoration, then display using a plate rack.

I found plate racks at a local "Dollar Store" (sold in 2-for-$1 packs).

This completes the tutorial for this kids craft.
