You can create a really "fun" Valentine gift or party favor by pairing chocolate cupcakes with Valentine's Day decorated glasses or paper cups (which you can find at your local dollar store!).

Make your favorite chocolate cake recipe (either from scratch or box mix---your preference!).

Use silver foil cupcake papers, look those shown here, or use Valentine's Day cupcake papers (I've seen them available at dollar stores, Walgreens, and my local supermarket).

Fill the cupcake papers between 1/2 and 2/3 full.

Bake following the instructions with the cake recipe---but do be aware that cupcakes usually bake faster than a whole cake. Be sure to check the cupcakes at 10 minutes, and then 5-10 minute intervals after that. Remove from oven as soon as a cake tester comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool.

Frost with your favorite chocolate (or fudge) frosting.

Sprinkle shredded coconut on top of the frosting.
Use plastic wrap and curl ribbon to "wrap" the cupcake. Place the cupcake in the middle of a piece of plastic wrap, pick up the corners of the plastic wrap, pull over the top of the cupcake, and tie with a piece of curl ribbon.
If the wrapped cupcake is smaller than the glass or cup, stuff a little tissue paper into the glass and pull the edges out over the top of the glass.

Place the wrapped cupcake into the nest of tissue paper. You can also use a Valentine-themed napkin.

This makes a great gift...just be sure to have plenty of cold milk on hand!!!

I was able to find these plastic glasses at my local dollar store, 4-for-$1. I also saw small Valentine's Day paper cups, 10-for-$1. If you need to send treats with your son or daughter to school, then this is a really inexpensive idea.

If baking cupcakes isn't quite your style, then you can make really quick and very inexpensive Valentine Party Favors with candy and a little bucket or other Valentine-decorated container (like this one found at my local dollar store). It can also be used a Valentine gift for a co-worker or friend.
