Day Craft for the Kids Family gatherings for Thanksgiving are quite a tradition in many families. Many folks travel to their parents' or grandparents' house for the day---dragging along kids who have to wear "nice clothes" all day. Even with hand-held video games, younger kids can get fidgety. To fill in some time, and just in case the weather is lousy and you can't shoo them outdoors, why not have some Thanksgiving Day craft items on hand? Below, I've listed a few simple items, along with a link to Mom's Break where you can get free printable Thanksgiving coloring pages. I've also provided illustrated instructions for the crafts at: http://readingroom.janktheproofer.com/Make-TDay-Kids-Craft.htm You’ll need:
Have kids color in pictures. When the pictures are colored, have the kids decorate the pictures with glitter and stickers, etc., as an optional part of the craft. Be sure to display your budding Rembrandt's pictures! Using a piece of colored construction paper, possibly orange or brown (Fall colors to compliment the colored pictures) and a glue stick, glue the colored picture onto the construction paper so that a border of construction paper shows around the edges. To display the picture, mount the picture/construction paper on cardboard or foam board, and use a plate display rack as a stand. Any proud Grandma will be glad to decorate her Thanksgiving Day dinner table with such wonderful artwork!
